Swapify

Turned a barter idea into a clear reason for indie founders to list, swap, and come back

Growth for a barter network where bootstrapped founders swap SaaS, lifetime deals, and shoutouts instead of paying for tools.

The problem

Swapify is a barter network for bootstrapped founders. A founder lists a SaaS product or lifetime deal, earns credits by giving shoutouts, and swaps those credits for tools they cannot afford yet. Every listing also earns a dofollow backlink.

An early-stage SaaS can spend around $2,000 a month on tools, so the offer is strong. Barter is an unfamiliar model, though. A founder had to understand credits, listings, and swaps before they would list anything, and a marketplace is empty until both sides show up.

What I worked on

Positioning that led with the outcome, not the mechanism: get the tools you need without an ad budget.

A first visit that explained credits, listings, and swaps in the order a founder meets them, ending at one next step: list your product.

Reasons to come back after the first swap, so a single listing turned into ongoing use of the network.
